Alright, well here's the story. (condensed :)
I've been shooting pictures since I was in high school which wrapped in the early 90's. I was raised the son of a preacher man and from there went to school in Phoenix where I met my wife, Jolene. We both decided to join the military and we served in the U.S. Air Force for a combined 13 years. We were married 10 years when God blessed us with our son Gryphyn and, this last April - two years later, our son Vahn. Once Gryphyn appeared on the scene we decided to leave the military and find a place to settle and raise our boys. Now Asheville, North Carolina is where we call home.
Along the way I've had the opportunity to photograph just about everything, weddings, landscapes, birthdays, engagements, architecture, children, fine art, modeling portfolios, corporate headshots, the military, festivals, wildlife, pets and even some stuff to put on eBay. Shooting weddings has been the most satisfying photographic endeavor by far. To be entrusted with capturing a couples story on their once in a lifetime day is a very high honor indeed.
Offering my services to newly engaged couples has been a dream of mine for years but a certain geographic instability has always held me back from entering into it full time. A quick survey to date shows that I've lived in 12 cities, 5 states, and 3 countries while having traveled to 14 different countries and 29 of our 50 states. I won't even mention the number of houses I've lived in or school's attended :)
The weddings I've been privileged to capture so far have spanned the United States.
From the ocean breezes of San Diego to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the mountains of Utah to the Riverwalk of San Antonio - destination weddings are where it's at.
Well, this officially begins the zac|thomas blog.
The full website will be up in a matter of days and then, for a fortunate number of couples each year...
what's been dreamable will now be what's reachable!
All right, that last line was kinda lame.
